This is a FREC 5 Diploma instruction from our HCPC paramedic instructors with extensive experience. Pre Requisite is FREC 4
We highly recommend you have a CERAD – blue light qualification to start with the front line hours, this would be highly beneficial at an early stage. At least 375 of the 750 Hours are required to be completed front line. We do have 5 placement providers that range from events, patient transport and front line, all will require their own standard employment checks. Email us for more information. For those that work in the close protection sector may benefit the Mexico placement option due to rotational commitments (hospital and ambulance)
The course is 17 days long over a 4 week period, we have designed a course to enable students to not have to rush through all assessments but include periods of study, resits where required and directed learning.
The course includes the 2 day Safe administration of medications, this is in the middle of the course.
Post course 750 hours (375 hours front line require a blue light qualification to access (CERAD)are required and we have placements in the south west (front line) Events across the Uk for multiple organisations partnered with OCB. Abroad placements are also offered in Mexico and South Africa. Some if not all of our placement providers are paid for work undertaken if not 3rd manning.
Our placement providers are primarily based in the south west but if you have a workplace that would authorise the placements, then we can apply to get these approved for an additional placement option. One of our providers is based in Mexico for an additional option – costs will apply.
We will provide a mentor and support throughout and this course enables you to progress on to a paramedic top up programme and register as a paramedic.
